I just got a new chin. I bought one a few years ago and it was one of the most instantly gratifying purchases I can recall. Boom. A chin. For years, O.K. forever, I’ve disliked my profile. I always ended up sticking my jaw out slightly to see definition. That why for many years I wore a beard or goatee. Just a little definition.

Then as my beard started to gray it was easier to just shave and color my hair. With the help of bronzer under the jaw and highlighting ON the jaw I could create what wasn’t there. But when I had a syringe of Radiesse injected into my chin I could wake up and smile. “Not bad. Not bad.”

I adjusted quickly to the new chin. In fact, I forgot what I USED to look like instantly. This was just “right.” After I cut my hair to reveal the gray I regrew the facial hair. I don’t think I realized the chin was heading back to where it was until one day, I shaved it off. Like Samson, I felt de-masculinized without the strength of a chin.

So I called up Bob Conlin conli007@umn.eduand off I trotted and for more chin. He did my chin in the photo below when he worked with at www.facialplasticsurgery.com. I received some chin, but not enough. I need to go back for a little more. A little more. Three words I worry about saying when I see so many women with lips that surely were fine before they said “just a little more…” But, I do. And I will. And a few weeks from now I will be supplied with my strength of character and masculinity all in the form of injectable fillers. I now understand why people take cosmetic enhancements too far. As we age there is just something about firmness and plumpness in the right places. Makes you want “just a little more.”
